Description:
In a unique collaboration, Gazoo and Alejandro Glatt created a compelling artwork titled “To the Moon,” presented at Miami Art Basel in 2023. This piece commemorates the Lunarprise Moon Museum, the first-ever museum on the Moon, established through a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch. The mission successfully launched on February 14, 2024, marking NASA’s and the USA’s first moon landing since 1972.
The artwork beautifully blends tradition with contemporary opulence. Alejandro Glatt’s contribution includes his new golden mirror collection, depicting the city adorned with luxury brand logos from the 2020s. This element pays homage to both heritage and modern luxury. In the heart of the piece stands a papaya tree, its golden fruits symbolizing prosperity and wisdom. This imagery is a tribute to the historic “Yerushalaim Shel Zahav” (Jerusalem of Gold), linking the city’s rich past to its vibrant present.
This portrayal captivated all who viewed it, evoking a shared appreciation for the harmonious blend of time-honored beauty and modern elegance. The papaya’s connection to gold in Judaism was reborn, becoming a living emblem of Jerusalem’s enduring spirit across the ages.
