The Frida Kahlo Museums are cultural landmarks dedicated to celebrating the life, art, and spirit of Mexico’s most iconic artist. In Tulum, the museum is uniquely situated within the archaeological zone, creating a dialogue between Mexico’s ancestral heritage and contemporary creativity. In Madrid, the museum expands this vision, offering immersive exhibitions and installations that bring Frida’s story to a global audience.
In July 2025, during the Frida Kahlo Papaya Museum Event in Tulum, Glatt was officially named Guardian of Frida Kahlo by the Frida Kahlo Corporation. The event highlighted the intersection of art, nature, and culture, featuring rare Frida Kahlo photographs curated by Alfonso Durán alongside Glatt’s papaya-inspired installations. Visitors experienced interactive sculptures, live performances, art workshops, and insightful talks.
As part of this ongoing collaboration, the museum hosted a special celebration for Frida Kahlo’s 118th birthday, where Alejandro Glatt created a papaya-shaped cake with 118 candles, honoring her life and legacy in a symbolic and joyful ritual.
In 2025, Alejandro Glatt also created a collection of collages inspired by Frida Kahlo’s work, photographs, and legacy, expanding the dialogue between his papaya symbolism and Frida’s timeless creativity.
Building on this recognition, Glatt has also been selected as the Guardian to send an official Frida Kahlo photograph to the Moon in February 2026, ensuring that her legacy transcends borders and even Earth itself.
