ABOUT THE ARTIST

The first Mexican artist to send an artwork to the Moon. Guardian of Frida Kahlo. Exhibited at the Louvre, Art Basel, and Burning Man. Active in 37 countries.

Alejandro Glatt (b. 1995, Mexico City) is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural producer whose work explores themes of unity, vitality, and human connection through the universal symbol of fruit. As the founder of the “Feel the Fruit” movement — active across 37 countries since 2010 — and the first Mexican artist to send an artwork to the Moon aboard the Lunaprise Museum lunar mission (2024), Glatt has established himself as one of the most dynamic voices in contemporary Latin American art.

Glatt’s practice spans installation, sculpture, collage, light-based works, DJ performance, and digital art. His work has been exhibited at the Musée du Louvre in Paris, Art Basel Miami, the Rubell Museum, the Contemporary Art Museum of Quintana Roo, the Museo de Frida Kahlo, Burning Man, and SXSW, among other major international platforms. A proud Mexican and Jewish artist, he was named Guardian of Frida Kahlo by the Frida Kahlo Corporation (2025), received the Distinguished Alumni Honor from the Birthright Israel Foundation at the Rubell Museum (2025), and was awarded the Lunaprise Art Pioneer Award (2024) and the International Digital Art Award in Paris (2024).

Beyond his studio practice, Glatt is an active cultural leader and advocate for peace, Jewish heritage, and cross-cultural dialogue. He has produced exhibitions and programs for institutions including the World Jewish Congress, Maguen David Adom, and the Jewish National Fund, and continues to build bridges between contemporary art, technology, and social impact. He is currently developing projects with NASA and the Frida Kahlo Museum for upcoming openings in New York, Miami, and Texas.

Why Papayas?

I chose the papaya because it is one of the most Mexican fruits that exist — native to our land, full of color, full of life. For me, the papaya represents everything I believe in: unity, vitality, sensuality, and the power of nature to connect us with something bigger than ourselves.

Since I was fifteen years old, I have been exploring this symbol across every medium I can — sculpture, installation, neon, collage, digital art, even sending one to the Moon. The papaya is my language. It is how I talk about Mexico, about identity, about joy, about what it means to be alive right now.

We live in a moment where art and technology are merging in ways never seen before. I want to be at that intersection — using the most ancient symbol, a fruit, to say something radically new.

Feel The fruit

“Feel the Fruit” is the movement I started in 2010 in Tulum, Mexico. What began as a simple idea — sharing the energy of fruit through art and experience — has grown into a global community active in over 37 countries.

The concept is simple: fruit is universal. Everyone has tasted a papaya, held a mango, smelled a guava. I use that shared experience as a starting point to create immersive installations, sculptures, DJ sets, and events that bring people together. No barriers, no pretension — just color, flavor, music, and connection.

Feel the Fruit is not just an art project. It is a way of living — choosing joy, choosing presence, choosing to celebrate the things that make us human. From Art Basel to Burning Man, from the Louvre to a beach in Formentera, this movement goes wherever people are ready to feel something real.
