Description: During Art Week CDMX 2026, Alejandro Glatt presented a solo exhibition at Galería Torre del Reloj in Polanco, one of Mexico City’s most visible civic cultural spaces located in Parque Lincoln. The exhibition positioned contemporary Jewish art at the center of Mexico’s most significant art week, bringing questions of identity, memory, and cultural continuity into a public urban setting. Coinciding with International Holocaust Remembrance Day, the exhibition engaged directly with themes of Jewish resilience, collective memory, and cultural pride. As a Mexican Jewish artist, Glatt approached the show as both a personal and communal statement — reflecting on Israel, diaspora identity, and the vibrancy of contemporary Jewish life. Through collage, symbolic imagery, and the recurring papaya motif as portal and emblem, the work bridged popular culture and historical consciousness, merging Mexican visual language with Jewish heritage. The exhibition offered a visible expression of Jewish pride within Mexico City’s contemporary art scene, affirming cultural continuity while embracing a forward-looking artistic voice rooted in both Mexico and Israel.
